Swindon's Gordon Greer has praised players character

Swindon Town defender Gordon Greer
Swindon Town have only lost seven games in League One this season

Character has taken Swindon Town from opening day disaster to within one game of automatic promotion, according to Robins' captain Gordon Greer.

Swindon will be promoted if they beat Millwall and Leeds United fail to beat Bristol Rovers.

Greer admits it is an amazing turn-around from the first day of the season when they lost 0-5 at Gillingham.

"The first game of the season was terrible. It shows our character that since then we've done fantastically."

A win for Millwall on Saturday could see the Lions themselves gain automatic promotion, but Greer attempted to play down the importance of the match.

"It's just another game of football," he told BBC Wiltshire.

"We're going to Millwall to try and win the game like we would at any other time. We'll just prepare for the game the same as we would any other and hopefully we can put on a really good performance and get the three points."
