Birmingham were grateful for the form of captain Jason Lyons as he underpinned a 50-40 victory over Rye House in the Premier Trophy. The Australian won all five of his rides for a 15-point haul to avenge last week's defeat at Rye House. The Brummies made a poor start before Lyons and Richard Sweetman combined for a 5-1 in heat six. When Ludvig Lindgren took his first race win for the club in heat 12 they were assured of a home win. Backing up Lyons' 15 points were Tomasz Piszcz (nine), Lindgren (seven) and Robert Ksiezak (seven) Stuart Robson led Rye House with nine points, Robert Mear adding eight and Linus Sundstrom seven.
