Karlsson's return to Monmore Green has gone down well with Wolves' fans |
Peter Karlsson made a stunning return to the Wolves line-up as they opened the season with a 52-41 win over Coventry in the Grand Challenge. Karlsson is back at Monmore as skipper this season and he roared to a 13-point haul, including a race win over the Bees' Grand Prix star Chris Harris. "I was so nervous before the meeting it was unbelievable," said Karlsson. "It felt like I had never raced here before, so it was good to get a result and for me to score well." Wolves' new-look team fired on all cylinders with Ty Proctor and Freddie Lindgren adding nine points apiece, while Adam Scornicki and teenager Tai Woffinden both chipped in with seven. Harris led the Bees' charge with 16 points, debutant Eddie Kennett chalked up 10 and Oliver Allen got six. The second leg of the Grand Challenge is at Brandon on Friday 20 March (2000 GMT).
