The Brummies now have a full line-up for the 2009 Premier League season |
Polish rider Marek Mroz has agreed to join the Birmingham Brummies for their 2009 Premier League campaign. Mroz, 38, has previous experience of riding in Britain with Newport and Mildenhall, although he ended last season nursing a broken coccyx. "Last season he got very homesick but he got over that and he feels he's in for a good season for us," said team boss Graham Drury. "I saw him ride and I certainly felt he had something to offer." Drury has also announced that teenager Jack Roberts will fill one of the reserve positions at Perry Barr this season after some impressive performances last summer. "Jack has the ability to do well for Birmingham, so I've decided to bring him into the first team as one of our three reserves," he said. "It means we now have a complete team for the new season and each and every team member is relishing the prospect." The Brummies top five will be skipper Jason Lyons, Poland's Tomas Piszcz, Ludvig Lindgren of Sweden and the Australian duo Richard Sweetman and Robert Ksiezak.
