Tomasz Piszcz will rejoin Birmingham Brummies for a full campaign in 2009 after making a good impression in a short spell last season. The 31-year-old won the Brummies' Most Entertaining Rider award in 2008 even though he only took part in a handful of matches. "I enjoyed my time with Birmingham, I feel Birmingham and the Premier League is good for me," said the Pole. "I always try my best and the crowd are very kind to me there." Piszcz finished the season with an average of 8.34 including bonus points, but he will start 2009 with an average of 7.11 as he did not complete the requisite 12 matches required for a new average. Birmingham have also confirmed that they expect to announce another new signing - a rider who has never represented the club before - by the end of the week. The Brummies have already announced the signings of Jason Lyons, Robert Ksiezak, Richard Sweetman and Ben Taylor for 2009.
