Plater is a former World Endurance Championship runner-up |
The Louth-based Honda TT Legends team finished fifth in the 24-hour Bol D'or race at Magny Cours in France on its World Endurance Championship debut. The three-man team features Woodhall Spa's Steve Plater, Keith Amor and road-racing champion John McGuinness. They completed 796 laps to finish 18 laps behind the winning Suzuki team. Plater said: "It is a very hard learning curve to do a 24-hour race first. All the guys have done a fantastic job." Round two of the World Endurance Championship is an eight-hour race at Albacete, Spain on May 21. Prior to that Plater, a former WEC runner-up, begins his British Supersport Championship campaign at Brands Hatch over the Easter weekend with the Padgetts Honda squad.
