Knight retires early in Sardinia

David Knight
Knight lies 10th in the WEC standings after three rounds

David Knight had another disappointing result at the third round of the 2009 World Enduro Championships, which was held at Iglesias, Sardinia on Saturday.

The BMW Motorrad rider made a determined start to day one but was forced to withdraw following a heavy crash on the enduro test.

The weekend got worse still for Knight when clutch problems forced him to retire on the second day.

Sebastien Guillaume and Ivan Cervantes won the respective tests.

After three rounds, the 30-year-old from the Isle of Man is in 10th place, trailing overall leader Cervantes by 100 points.
