Sam Lowes signs World Supersport deal for 2011

Sam Lowes
Lowes has had 10 top-three finishes in British Supersport in 2010

Lincoln's Sam Lowes will race for the Parkalgar Honda squad in next season's World Supersport Championship after signing a one-year deal with the team.

Lowes goes to the World Championship as British Supersport champion, winning five races with GNS Racing Honda.

The 20-year-old will replace 2010 World Supersport runner-up Eugene Laverty who is moving up to World Superbikes.

He said: "This is one of the best teams in the world and is right at the front of the races week in, week out."

Northern Irishman Laverty won eight races this season with Parkalgar Honda, but was pipped to the title by Ten Kate Honda's Kenan Sofuoglu.

Lowes, who contested five rounds of the 2009 world championship with the Echo-CRS Honda team and finished 10th as a wild card in this year's British round of the series at Silverstone, will make his final British Supersport appearance of the season at Oulton Park on Sunday.
