Alastair Seeley will face stiff competition at Bishopscourt |
James Ellison and Sam Lowes are to ride Supersport machines for the Parkalgar Honda team at the Sunflower Trophy races at Bishopscourt on 16 October. Ellison has been riding for the Swan Honda British Superbike team this season while Lowes was recently crowned British Supersport champion. Lowes will replace Eugene Laverty in Simon Buckmaster's Parkalgar team for the 2011 World Supersport championship. Ellison is believed to be interested in a switch to the global series. The pair will come up against another top British competitor, Billy McConnell, in the Supersport class and will also take part in the feature Sunflower race. McConnell will ride for the MAR-Train team at the County Down venue, with James Westmoreland, runner-up in the British Supersport series, riding for Relentless TAS Suzuki. A star-studded Superbike line-up for the race will include TAS Suzuki duo Alastair Seeley and Michael Laverty, plus Buildbase Kawasaki pair John Laverty and Adam Jenkinson. Paul Bird Kawasaki rider Ian Lowry will defend the title he won last year and top Irish racers Marshall Neill, Brian McCormack, David Haire, Kirk Jamison, Gerard Kinghan, Denver Robb and Glenn Irwin are also in the line-up. Road racers Ryan Farquhar and William Dunlop have also thrown their hat in the ring.
