Organisers of Scarborough Bike Week say it will be back next year following its return from a two-year absence.

The 2010 Bike Week was held after a one-year hiatus to allow the organisers time to work on circuit development and its grass-root events.

Peter Hillaby from the organising Auto 66 Club told BBC Radio York: "As a club we can't continue financing it.

"So next year it will be a completely different format but it will happen. We've learnt a lot of lessons."

He added: "[There were] Lots of promises from the trade and the local organisations but none of them came to fruition."

Scarborough Bike week was brought back this year due to public demand.

The traditional events from the Bike Week were still held in its two-year absence at the track at Oliver's Mount but they were split up across the year.
