Farquhar won 61 road race titles in an outstanding season
Ryan Farquhar has described the 2009 Southern 100 meeting on the Isle of Man as one of the hardest week's work he has ever done.
In an outstanding season Farquhar won more than 60 road titles including four at the popular Billown races.
Speaking at the event's 2010 press launch he said: "It was a great year, but I still feel I can win more."
The Southern 100 will celebrate its 55th anniversary this year and will run from the 12-15 July.
The Dungannon rider continued: "The Southern stands out in my mind as a really good meeting for me. It was easily one of the hardest weeks I've ever had, every race was a dogfight."
Despite his four titles at the Southern 100, Farquhar was piped to the Solo Championship by Lincolnshire rider Guy Martin.
"There were so many races that I was leading and silly things happened to me or the bike, so I will be pushing even harder in 2010," Farquhar added.
Other highlights for the 34-year-old included winning 18 races in one weekend at the Barry Sheene Race Festival at Oliver's Mount in Scarborough.
He also celebrated his fourth Duke Road Rankings title and beat the record set by Joey Dunlop for the most Irish road race wins.
