Jakobsen joined the Stoke Potters before the start of the 2009 season

Klaus Jakobsen's future with the Stoke Potters is unclear after the club confirmed they have applied for a facility to cover his absence.

Neither Stoke nor Peterborough, where Jakobsen is a squad member, have been able to make contact with Jakobsen, amid rumours he has quit speedway.

Stoke promoter Dave Tattum said: "We've tried to contact Klaus and so has [Danish team manager] Jan Staechmann.

"Neither of us has been able to contact Klaus at this moment in time."

Tattum continued: "I understand that Klaus also missed the Danish Under-21 Championship on Saturday night and we really don't know what is happening with him."
