Taylor Poole continued his good form with a 17-point haul at Sheffield |
Stoke Potters produced a battling display against Sheffield but were beaten 55-40 at Owlerton Stadium. Teenage reserve Taylor Poole won four heats on the night and top-scored for the Potters with 17 points. Edinburgh's Andrew Tully, riding as a guest in place of the injured skipper Jason Bunyan, scored 11 points. "To reach 40 points was an achievement around here as it's difficult at the best of times," said Potters manager Malcolm Vasey. "For a team lacking in confidence it was an acceptable performance, but more is still required and there is still a lot of work to do as we look to turn things around." The Potters complete their Premier Trophy campaign with a home meeting against Scunthorpe on Saturday. Stoke have won just one of their seven group matches and are bottom of the table.
