Doolan finished with the best results of the evening against Sheffield

Australia's Kevin Doolan top-scored for King's Lynn Stars as they stormed to victory against Sheffield Tigers in speedway's Premier League.

Seventeen points for Doolan and 15 for Linus Eklov ensured the Stars began the defence of their title with a win.

The Stars were without captain Tomas Topinka and Joe Haines due to injury.

There is now a week's break for the riders before they host Somerset next Wednesday at the Norfolk Arena and then travel to Sheffield on Thursday.
