King's Lynn Stars get their first win of the season
Rob Lyon led the Stars to the treble in 2009
King's Lynn Stars have bounced back from defeat to record their first win of the new speedway season.
The Stars beat Rye House Rockets 52-41 on their home track with Kevin Doolan top-scoring with 14 points.
Stars manager Rob Lyon told BBC Radio Norfolk that he was satisfied to collect all three points.
"I didn't think we'd hit the heady heights of 60 points as a lot of people probably expected but we'll kick on from here," he said.
This season's King's Lynn team is very different to the one which lifted the treble in 2009 with new riders, including Dane Casper Wortmann, still settling in.
Lyon said: "It was good to see Casper in the points again. He rode well at Newport and again tonight so that's positive.
"A lot of the boys rode well and it was good to get a match under our belts as we seem to have had a stop-start situation at the start of the season."
The Stars lost their first Premier Trophy tie away at Newport Wasps and their next match is away at Somerset Rebels on Friday.
