Doolan was part of the treble-winning side in 2006 |
Kevin Doolan returns for his third spell with the King's Lynn Stars as they gear up for another season in the Premier League. The Australian went out on loan to Workington Comets for the 2009 season where he took the role of captain, but is pleased to be back in Lynn. "I love it here, it really is my home for speedway," he said. "I love being here every Wednesday and the atmosphere is amazing. It makes my year to be here as often as I can." Doolan's year out of the side means he missed out on the team winning the treble crown for the second time in their history, but the 27-year-old always looks on the positive side. "I knew a year away would make me a better rider and I've learnt a lot from being captain at Workington," he added. "I can put my new found strengths into my doings here at King's Lynn. I'm a bigger, better rider and I'm looking to improve on previous seasons." The King's Lynn Stars begin the defence of the Premier Trophy on Wednesday, 31 March against Rye House.
