Eastbourne Eagles co-promoter Trevor Geer is hoping the team can pick up their first points of the season in their clash with the Lakeside Hammers.
The two sides meet in a double header on Friday, with an afternoon fixture at the Essex Raceway and a return meeting at Arlington Stadium in the evening.
Geer told BBC Sussex: "We're certainly looking for a couple of wins.
"We have a meeting behind us now, so we've got no excuses that we're not race fit."
The Eagles lost their first fixture of the season last weekend when the were beaten 47-43 by the Swindon Robins.
"I've changed the riding order around because I wasn't happy with the pairings last week. Some of them didn't seem to ride well together," Geer said.
"I know we're a lot better than that and the riders have looked good in practice.
"It's a good chance to get a few points and I think we're in for a good meeting."
