Jakobsen is one of only two riders to remain at Stoke from the 2009 season |
Stoke Potters have made Danish rider Klaus Jakobsen their final signing before the start of the 2010 season. Jakobsen, who has been at Stoke for the past two seasons, was competing with fellow Dane Jesper Kristiansen for the final place in the Potters' line-up. Promoter Dave Tattum told the club website: "It's been a hard decision but I've made it and I'm pleased with the team that we've put together." The new speedway season will begin on Saturday, 20 March. Tattum added: "I'll do everything possible to get Jesper fixed up with another club and we wish him well. "I can't wait for the start of the season to come around because I really do feel we have an exciting team that will provide some superb entertainment for the supporters. I've not felt this excited for quite some time." Jakobsen and new skipper Jason Bunyan are the only two riders to return to Loomer Road from the squad that finished 11th in the Premier League. Michal Rajkowski, Hynek Stichauer, Ricky Wells, James Holder and Taylor Poole are the five new signings that Stoke have made in preparation for the new season.
