Wolves will have Swedish rider Freddie Lindgren back to lead the defence of their Elite League title next year.

Lindgren, 24, has agreed a new deal with the Monmore Green outfit for his seventh season in the Black Country.

"Freddie was the best rider in the Elite League last season and we're delighted to welcome him back," said Wolves owner Chris Van Straaten.

The decision to re-sign Lindgren means 2009 skipper Peter Karlsson is now free to talk to other clubs.

There are also doubts about whether Pole Adam Skornicki will return, as he awaits surgery on his injured knee.

Van Straaten added: "We wanted to track as many of the Elite League winning side as possible, but with a points limit in place, it's impossible.

"We feel very sad about not keeping Peter, who is a legendary figure at the club, but he fully understands our dilemma."

Wolves have also signed Lindgren's younger brother Ludvig for the 2010 season, while Danish rider Nikolai Klindt will also return to Monmore Green for a third successive season.

Meanwhile, Hynek Stichauer has left Wolves for Premier League side Stoke Potters.
