Bunyan will replace Lee Complin as captain of Stoke Potters in 2010 |
Jason Bunyan will captain Stoke Potters for the 2010 season after agreeing to return to Loomer Road for another year. The 30-year-old, who joined from the Isle of Wight, was Stoke's best rider in 2009, averaging 8.25 points. Promoter Dave Tattum said: "I'm delighted Jason has agreed to come back for a second season and I'm looking forward to working with him. "Jason has been a delight to deal with and I know the supporters will be pleased that he is back next year." He added: "I've decided to name Jason as captain and I'm sure he will do a great job, both on and off the track. "We both want success for the club and I feel Jason will do an excellent job for us in the skipper's role. "I made it clear that I wanted to return next season and I'm pleased that everything is now sorted and I can relax knowing what I'm doing next year." Meanwhile, Stoke have been drawn with Birmingham, Sheffield, Redcar and Scunthorpe in their Premier Trophy group next season. The Potters failed to make it past the group stage in that competition in 2009.
