Stoke City's Mamady Sidibe pleased to net first goal
Sidibe made his 150th league appearance for Stoke on Tuesday
Stoke City striker Mamady Sidibe is hopeful that his first Premier League goal for over a year will boost his confidence for the rest of the season.
The Mali international netted in the 3-2 win over Fulham on Tuesday, his first goal since December 2008.
He told BBC Radio Stoke: "For a striker, not scoring is always hard.
"Scoring will give me confidence. It's not just the goal, but also the way we played, it gives us all confidence and that's always a good thing."
Sidibe missed seven months of football with a cruciate knee ligament injury, but has appeared in eight Premier League games since returning at the end of October.
The result ended the Potters' run of six matches without a Premier League win and the three points took them back into the top-half of the Premier League table.
Their next game is against Burnley, where Sidibe scored the winning goal for Stoke in their last victory at Turf Moor in January 2007.
"Burnley is a hard place to go, we know it will be a tough game, but we will be ready for that," said the 30-year-old.
