Mads Korneliussen will ride for Swindon Robins in 2010 |
Swindon Speedway have confirmed Mads Korneliussen will ride for the Robins next season. The 26-year-old from Denmark first linked up with Swindon in 2005, but spent last season on-loan at Peterborough Panthers. Korneliussen will join the Robins with a starting average of 6.30. Swindon co-owner Gary Patchett said: "Mads is very popular amongst Swindon supporters after his previous stint here at Blunsdon." The former Danish Under 21 Champion will join Leigh Adams and Grzegorz Zengota who have already signed-up for next season. Korneliussen helped the Robins reach a trio of Elite League playoffs in 2006, 2007 and 2008 before opting for a move to Peterborough, where he competed in 31 Elite League matches, scoring 215 points. "By his own admission, he regrets not accepting our offer to ride for the club in 2009 and is excited about coming back to Blunsdon in 2010," added Patchett. "Although Mads is only in his mid-twenties, he is an experienced Elite League rider and can offer the younger members of the squad some valuable advice. "Mads has worked closely with Robins' skipper Leigh Adams before and the two riders share a good relationship. "He has consistently upped his average whilst riding for Swindon and we're confident he can improve on his starting figure of 6.30 next season."
