Cummins now has 41 points after seven rounds |
Conor Cummins bagged 20 valuable championship points on Sunday after claiming two sixth-placed finishes at Knockhill in Scotland. The results see the Manx rider rise to ninth in the overall Metzelder National 1000cc Superstock standings. Speaking after the event Cummins said: "It's been a good weekend for me and the team." "All the time and effort we put in at Donington is certainly paying dividends and we've made massive progress." Fresh from his top-10 showing at the European Superstock round at Donington Park just over a week ago, the 23-year-old is confident that the results will continue to improve. "The team have been working so hard to give me what I need and I've got a good feel for what the bike's doing now so we're at a place where I think we can start pushing for podiums," he said. Alastair Seeley continued his domination of the series, winning both races to increase his overall lead to 48 points over Steve Brogan. Cummins will now join up with the McAdoo Kawasaki team for the Southern 100 races on the Isle of Man before the next National 1000cc Superstock round at Brands Hatch on the 9 August.
