Ian Hutchinson made it two wins out of two on Tuesday by adding a Superstock victory to his earlier Supersport race success in the Isle of Man TT.

The Padgetts Honda rider came home almost nine seconds ahead of Guy Martin after a thrilling four-lap battle.

Keith Amor was a further nine seconds back in third, while Steve Plater and John McGuinness completed an identical top five to the Supersport race.

Manx rider Conor Cummins came home in sixth on the Mountain Course.

The lap record for the class was smashed repeatedly, with Hutchinson eventually setting the new benchmark at an average speed of 129.74mph, achieved on his final circuit.

Two seconds separated the top four riders after an opening lap which saw McGuinness, Amor and Hutchinson all enjoy spells at the head of the field.

McGuinness' first-lap speed of 128.53mph broke the previous class best set by Bruce Anstey in 2007 and the Morecambe man led from Hutchinson, Amor and Martin after the first quarter of the race.

After the pit stops at the close of the second lap, Martin led Hutchinson by seven seconds, with fellow Honda riders Amor, McGuinness and Plater in close pursuit.

Hutchinson had upped the lap record to 129.21mph on that lap.

At the end of lap three, Martin led the Supersport winner by just four one-hundredths of a second but the Yorkshire rider shattered the lap record again on his final circuit to claim victory.

Jenny Tinmouth, who finished in 47th position, became the fastest woman in TT history, lapping the course at an average speed of 116.8 mph.
