McGuinness' lap record stands at 130.335 mph set in 2007 |
John McGuinness set the fastest lap time in Monday's first timed practice session of the Isle of Man TT. The 14-time winner and lap record holder topped the practice times with both his Plant Honda superbike and his Padgett's Superstock Honda. He said: "It's been a good night for us and I'm really pleased with my times. "I had a good run round on the Superbike and it's working well. There's a long way to go but we're in the ballpark," the Morecambe man added. He added: "I just need to get out on the Supersport bike now to see where we are with that." The 37-year-old lapped the Mountain course at an average speed of 128.067 mph on the Superbike, 11 seconds clear of Adrian Archibald with local man Conor Cummins third. In the sidecars Dave Molyneux and Dan Sayle were fastest round the circuit with an average speed of 114.69 mph.
