Hutchinson won the Junior TT in 2007 |
Yorkshire rider Ian Hutchinson is confident he will be challenging for the top honours at the 2009 Isle of Man TT races with Padgett's Honda. Hutchinson will have a full compliment of machinery, including the Honda Fireblade that John McGuinness rode to victory in last year's Senior race. "I'm feeling really good this year. I'm fully fit and not carrying any injuries," said the 29-year-old. "I've spent more time on the superbike ahead of the TT that ever before." He added: "The bike has already got a good setting and a some great history on the mountain course from last year so we can come here with confidence and get some laps in." The 29-year-old said winning in 2007 added extra pressure last year which may have affected his performances. "Last year I was a little more anxious than normal but this year I am confident with the machinery and I have nothing to worry about. "I just want to get going and hopefully get some wins under my belt." In 2008 the rider from Bingley, West Yorkshire claimed two podium finishers, with second in the Supersport race and third in the showpiece Senior race.
