Hutchinson won the Junior TT title in 2007 |
Ian Hutchinson has ended weeks of speculation by announcing he will contest all the major road races, including the TT, for Padgett's Honda. The rider from Bingley in West Yorkshire is confident he can do well. I'm delighted to join Clive's team for 2009 and everything is in place for me to challenge for wins," he said. "Having seen him work with John[McGuinness], I know that no stone will be left unturned and he'll give me what I need to run at the front." The Yorkshire rider will ride the same Honda Fireblade Superbike that John McGuinness took to victory in last year's Senior race, upgraded to this year's specification. The 29-year-old will also have brand new Superstock and Supersport machines at his disposal. | We'll give him everything he needs to succeed and we're all looking forward to a successful season of racing in 2009 |
The deal with Padgett's is purely for the three International road meetings, the North West 200 and Ulster Grand Prix and the Isle of Man TT. Team manager Clive Padgett said: "We'll give him everything he needs to succeed and we're all looking forward to a successful season of racing in 2009." Hutchinson is still without a deal to compete in any of the British Championships. It has also been revealed HM Plant Honda riders McGuinness and Steve Plater will represent the Padgett's team in the Superstock TT, giving the Batley-based outfit three riders in that contest.
