Friend's last international action with Zimbabwe was almost five years ago |
Castletown enjoyed a thrilling victory against leaders St Johns in the Standard Bank Premiership on Saturday. St Johns dismissed the southerners for just 106 and looked certain of victory at 94-3 needing just 12 runs with seven wickets in hand. However an inspired bowling spell from Andy Sewell and Travis Friend carried the southerners to a famous victory. Sewell completed a man-of-the-match performance with 5-22 and Zimbabwean Friend took 3-33. Meanwhile, Ramsey took advantage of the result to move top of the league with a 44-run win against the Loaghtyn Rams. Elsewhere Cronkbourne, inspired by the Stokoe brothers, had a more comfortable 172-run victory over Crosby.
