Zagar won three heats on his home debut for Swindon
New signing Matej Zagar was Swindon's star rider as the Robins beat Lakeside 54-36 at the Abbey Stadium.
The Slovenian scored a paid 13 points on his home debut to help lift the team back up to second in the Elite League.
Zagar told BBC Wiltshire he will get even better once he gets used to riding around his new home track.
"I had trouble with my starts all night, but captain Leigh Adams gave me good advice for setting up the bike, which helped," he said.
"The track was good and the crowd was perfect so I just need to keep it up."
The victory was Swindon's seventh straight home maximum, with Adams and Travis McGowan joining Zagar in double figures and good support from Jurica Pavlic and Cory Gathercole.
Former Robin Jonas Davidsson and Adam Shields top scored for the Hammers with 10 points each.
The two teams will face each other again soon in the Knockout Cup, after they were drawn together in the semi-finals of the competition.
