Wiltshire Olympian Shelley Rudman's car has been stolen containing the helmet she wore on her medal-winning Bob Skeleton run in Turin.

Shelley had just returned to Sheffield after a trip to see her parents in Pewsey when the theft happened.

"They took my Olympic helmet, my racing gloves and my training kit that I use at the gym," she said.

She won Britain's only medal at the Winter Olympic Games in 2006 when she took silver in the Bob Skeleton.

"When you're an athlete you pretty much live out of your car," she said.

"I'd just got back from seeing my mum and dad so the car was packed and I'm quite upset about it.

"The people who've stolen my car are probably just going to burn my car and helmet and my personal things and that's really annoying."
