Priaulx battled back from a first-race crash to earn four points |
World Touring Car champion Andy Priaulx cut the gap between himself and title leader Yvan Muller to 13 points after a mixed weekend at Oschersleben. The Guernseyman crashed out of the first race as he tried to overtake his rival for second place in the championship, Gabriele Tarquini. The shunt meant he started from 26th place on the grid for race two. But Priaulx put in an impressive performance to surge up to fifth place and claim four championship points. Priaulx now has 53 points, 11 behind Tarquini and a further two adrift of Muller. But there are six drivers within 10 points of Priaulx after Spain's Felix Porteiro and Brazil's Augusto Farfus both took race wins.
