Plans for a new American football team in Guernsey have been boosted by news that the island side would be able to play in both the UK and France in 2009.
Guernsey have been granted associate membership to the British American Football League for 2009 before full entry to National Division Two in 2010.
The island side will now play six to eight non-league matches next year.
They could also enter the French regional league in 2009 if clubs agree to play their away matches in Guernsey.
The side is getting regular attendances of 35-40 players at training, being held under the guidance of former England coach Steve Rains.
Last week the side had a passing masterclass from former England quarterback Ashley Heath, who led the Farnham Knights to national championships in 2004 and 2007.
"There is genuine talent here and what is so refreshing is the willingness to learn," said Knights.
"The guys here were picking up things very quickly and I think there is the potential for a really competitive team."
The club has designed a new helmet for the side, but are still trying to find a nickname.
