American amateur champion Jeff Quinney is the other player given the opportunity to compete with world number one Woods, who will be looking to win his fifth successive Major.

They tee off at 1830 BST, in the group immediately behind Scot Colin Montgomerie.

Montgomerie is paired with Americans Jim Furyk and Frank Lickliter, while Lee Westwood partners Ryder Cup opponents Davis Love and Tom Lehman.

Northern Ireland's Darren Clarke has Harrison Frazar and Kirk Triplett for company.
