Who can stop Tiger?
Tiger Woods is attempting to become the first golfer to win five Majors in a row. Can anyone stop him?
If Tiger Woods wins this year's US Open he will become the first golfer to win five Majors in a row.

Can anyone stop his relentless march through the record books?

HAVE YOUR SAY Phil Mickleson, the left-handed world number two, had a chance at this year's US Masters, but he let it slip.

Maybe South African Ernie Els, the only non-American to have won the title in the last 20 years, can repeat his successes of 1994 and 1997?

Or can the Fijian Vijay Singh, the only man other than Woods to win a Major in the last 18 months, repeat his 2000 Masters triumph?

Perhaps a surprise winner leap out of the pack?

Who do you think can break Tiger's grip on golf's silverware?

HAVE YOUR SAY

Tiger is far and away the best golfer ever to play the game. He can strike the ball and hit shots that no one else can even dream of. He is the best putter in the game, has the short game of Seve, his mental approach is superb, he is an unbelievable athlete and his dedication to perfection and success is phenomenal. He is improving with every victory and not only will he win the US Open, there is no-one out there at the moment who will rise to challenge his dominance in the near future. Tiger has taken golf to the next level and it will take a new breed of golfer to stop him.
Alastair, Northern Ireland

Sergio Garcia is one golfer who can give Tiger a run for his money.

Luck will be an important factor - even for Tiger. There are a lot of players who might beat him and an outsider could come out of the pack. Not possible? Who would have thought Andrew Oldcorn would have won at Wentworth a couple of weeks ago? Best value outsider looks to me to be Frank Lickliter.
Trevor Cox, England

If Tiger brings even his 'B' game then he will win the US open. Just look at the Masters and the PGA. He'll win big time and will be the only golfer under par on Sunday. He's that far ahead of the rest.
Pat O'Donnell, Scotland

Tiger is the greatest golfer ever, no doubt about it. If he plays his best he wins, but there is no way he can win every major he enters and I see this one as the one he may lose. I feel Duval could be the man this week. He has all the shots, and his mental game looked better at the Masters.
Ciaran, Ireland

There are a number of players who ought to be capable of shooting four good rounds, including one very low score, during this year's US Open and winning the tournament. The crux of the matter is do any of them, other than Woods, have enough belief and resilience to perform when it matters, especially on day four? Another Woods-induced final-day collapse, or under performance would be sad indeed.
J.J. Longhorn, U.K.

It will be the biggest challenge of Tiger Wood's career
  Rob, USA

The glory of the game is that any one of perhaps forty players can string together four good rounds. I'd look for a strong showing from Duval this year. Let's not forget he stood astride the game for several months. But the winner could equally well be Garcia, Parnevik, or Dent.
Dan, Denmark

The older players have talked themselves into the fact that Tiger is much better than them. The real reason he is winning is that he is much more consistent. Tiger shoots from 65 to 69 everyday in a tournament where as the other players will post a score in the 70s on one day. I'm afraid we're going to have to look to the young guns to raise a challenge to his dominance.
Joel, England

It will be the biggest challenge of Tiger Wood's career to win the US Open for his fifth consecutive Major win. In 100 US Open tournaments, only two golfers have won consecutive US Open titles, Ben Hogan and Curtis Strange. Tulsa will be blistering hot, something that Tiger cannot easily handle. Tiger shot a 78 (8-over) on that same golf course back in the '96 Tour Championship, his worst round of his career. My guess is that Jesper Parnevik will win.
Rob, USA

It's quite simple really. If Tiger plays well he will win. If he plays reasonably he's a 75 per cent chance of winning, poorly and it's about a 25 per cent chance. I wouldn't bet on him playing poorly! I believe he is further ahead in his sport than any other sportsman I've ever seen and I'd put him odds on, something I never thought could happen in golf.
Paul, UK

If Tiger is on his game then no one will get close, but if he does slip then why not Jasper Parnevik?
  James Milne, Stockholm

If Tiger has his 'A' game nobody can match him. If someone is going to beat him he will most likely be one of the rising stars and probably European. Sergio Garcia would be my man to back.
Stephen Hatcher, USA

If Tiger is on his game then no one will get close, but if he does slip then why not Jasper Parnevik? Surely the best golfer of the modern age not to win a Major.
James Milne, Stockholm

Tiger already has the tournament won, it's his to lose. Tiger starts with a six-shot advantage. However, it only takes a bad day at the office to blow a tournament. But Tiger doesn't have many bad days at the office.
Rick, UK

Tiger isn't going to win every Major he enters. He is a great, great golfer but he'll have an off day occasionally. Having said that, if Tiger's firing on all cylinders, no one can touch him. He also has a strong mental edge over most of his competitors.
Ted, UK
