Chamberlain was seeded second for the tournament

Jan Chamberlain has become Guernsey's women's golf champion, beating the defending champion, 14-year-old Aimee Ponte, on the first extra hole.

Chamberlain sank a 20ft putt for birdie on the 37th hole in the final at La Grande Mare, the first time she had been in front all match.

The number two seed credited her caddy, Mandy Hardman, with giving her "the read of her life".

Hardman had herself lost five and four to Ponte in the semi-finals.
