Jersey added another ten medals on the final day of 14th Jeux des Iles in the Azores, making a record 25 in all, to finish in sixth place. There were four more medals in the pool, with a fourth gold, in the 100m freestyle for Emily Bashforth. Kathryn Rothwell took gold in the shot-put with a throw of 12.46 while team-mate Shadine Duquemin won the silver with a personal best of 11.20. And there was a tennis team bronze for Audrey Bois and Eva Hurst. In all, Jersey won seven gold medals, ten silver and eight bronze in what was a record-breaking Jeux des Iles for the 40 youngsters involved. It was the 14th time this multi-sport event for youngsters from islands around the world has been held.
