Pitt has to start from the back of the grid in Salt Lake City |
Isle of Man-based rider Andrew Pitt finished seventh in the seventh round of the World Supersport Championships in Salt Lake City, USA on Sunday. Pitt started from the back of the grid after a crash in practice prevented him from setting a qualifying time. Pitt, on the CBR600RR machine, then put in a stunning performance to claim seventh place. "It's not a bad result considering where I started. We're heading in the right direction," said Pitt. The race was won by Pitt's Turkish team-mate Kenan Sofuoglu with Irishman Eugene Laverty second and championship leader Cal Crutchlow third. The next round will be held at Misano, San Marino on 21 June.
