Spotland hosts FA Women's Premier League Cup final

Everton Ladies
Everton lifted the Premier League Cup after victory over Arsenal in 2008

The FA Women's Premier League Cup final between Everton and Leeds Carnegie will be played on Thursday, 11 February at Rochdale's Spotland.

The Blues last lifted the trophy in 2008 beating Arsenal 1-0 in the final with Everton seeing off the Gunners in this year's semi-finals.

The last meeting between the sides in 2009 ended goalless, hampering the Blues' chances of winning the league.

The game, which is the first final of the season, kicks off at 1900 GMT.

"We are delighted to be bringing this showpiece match to the North West where we are increasingly seeing more girls and women playing the game," said Thura Win, chair of the FA Women's Premier League.

"Having recently brought two England Women's Under-19 games to Rochdale we know Spotland Stadium is a terrific venue with first-class facilities.

"Rochdale are enjoying a fantastic season in League Two and we hope that many of the club's supporters come to Spotland to see some of the most talented and exciting footballers in the women's game."
