Everton will get better - Johnson

Lindsay Johnson
Johnson scored her first goal for England against Norway last month

Everton Ladies defender Lindsay Johnson believes the best is yet to come from the Blues after Arsenal beat them to the league title on Sunday.

The Gunners won the Premier League on goal difference following their 1-0 victory over the Blues at the weekend.

"Our attitude is that we'll do it next time," Johnson told BBC Radio Merseyside after the game.

"Hopefully the future is bright for us and we can go ahead and win things and learn from this."

Johnson added: "Even though we haven't won anything, this has been our best season. We played some great football and we've turned Arsenal over at their ground but we just need to be more consistent against them."

Johnson feels that success is just around the corner for her side and they just need to keep working hard.

But she admits their is an overriding ambition for Everton to be the top side in the country.

"It showed people that we can compete with them, but we want to beat them," Johnson continued.

"It's so frustrating because I firmly believe we are the better team. But at the end of the day, they've got the result and that's what matters."
