England midfielder Fara Williams hit a hat-trick as Everton beat Fulham 6-0 to pile the pressure on Women's Premier League leaders Arsenal.

The Toffees, who have three games in hand, closed the gap at the top of the table to six points.

Arsenal were held to a goalless draw by Doncaster Belles.

Third-placed Chelsea beat Nottingham Forest 3-1, while mid-table Leeds Carnegie claimed a 2-1 victory over Bristol Academy.

Doncaster Rovers Belles 0-0 Arsenal

Both sides had chances to win a hard fought contest, Suzanne Davies going close for the Belles and Gemma Davison forcing home keeper Nicola Hobbs into a great save.

Everton 6-0 Fulham

First half goals by Toni Duggan and Jill Scott put Everton on the road to a comfortable victory over their bottom of the table visitors.

Williams' second half hat-trick included a penalty, with striker Jody Handley completing the scoring.

Bristol Academy 1-2 Leeds Carnegie

Sue Smith gave Leeds the lead in the 22nd minute of an opening half that saw lots of goalmouth action.

Leeds twice struck the woodwork, but the home side forced goalkeeper Carly Telford into two excellent saves and also had a goalbound effort cleared off the line.

Bristol were unfortunate to be trailing at the interval, but they went further behind when Carla Cantrell scored Carnegie's second goal in the 66th minute.

Academy fought throughout the closing stages to put themselves back into contention, but their only reward was a last minute penalty converted by Corinne Yorston.

Chelsea 3-1 Nottingham Forest

Sarah Kempson struck twice and Lianne Sanderson got the other Chelsea goal as the Londoners assured themselves of a third place finish.

Forest, free of their relegation worries after last week's win against Leeds, pulled a goal back through Kelly Finley but never looked likely to save the match.
