England striker Lianne Sanderson hit a hat-trick as Arsenal hammered Leeds United 8-1 to stay five points clear at the top of the Women's Premier League.
Charlton moved into second place, ahead of Everton on goal difference, with a 2-1 win at Birmingham City.
But Charlton's win was marred by a red card for striker Ashlee Hincks, who was sent off for a foul on Steph Samuels.
Blackburn's 1-0 win at Chelsea moved Rovers to within three points of fourth place Leeds.
WOMEN'S PREMIER LEAGUE
Leeds United 1-8 Arsenal
Leading scorer Sanderson's hat-trick took her season's goal tally to 31.
Rachel Yankey (two), Kelly Smith, Alex Scott and Karen Carney were Arsenal's other scorers.
Jess Clarke hit the home side's consolation goal.
Birmingham City 1-2 Charlton Athletic
Goals in the opening 19 minutes by Natasha Dowie and Katie Holtham provided the platform for Charlton victory.
Birmingham left-winger Dani Bird pulled a goal back nine minutes into the second half.
But despite Charlton going down to 10 players following Hincks' 70th minute dismissal, the home side were unable to force an equaliser.
Sunderland 1-2 Bristol Academy
After Corinne Yorston had put Academy in front Kerry Bartlett's 89th minute strike sealed victory for the visitors.
A stoppage time goal by Sarah Danby was too little, too late for Sunderland, who are second from bottom.
Chelsea 0-1 Blackburn Rovers
Almost inevitably it was striker Katie Anderton, with her 25th goal in 21 appearances, who hit the Rovers winner midway through the second half.
Fulham 0-1 Doncaster Rovers Belles
Claire Williams had a first-half "goal" disallowed through a marginal off-side decision as Fulham went in search of a rare victory.
But a defensive mix-up 10 minutes after the break led to striker Carla Cantrell bagging all three points for Donny.
And that spelt relief for the Belles, who had lost their previous five matches to slide into relegation trouble.
