FA Women's Cup holders Arsenal and last year's runners-up Leeds United both overcame tricky starts to progress on a rain-affected day in the fourth round.
Arsenal won 4-1 at Northern Division Stockport County, but the hosts were right in the tie until Krystle Johnston was sent off 15 minutes from time.
Leeds went behind at Sunderland but bounced back to win 3-1 with all their goals coming in a nine-minute spell.
Six of the 16 scheduled ties were postponed due to waterlogged pitches.
At the stage of the competition where the top-flight clubs enter, Chelsea beat Doncaster Rovers Belles 2-1 in the only other all-National Division tie played.
The shock of the day was non-league Langford's 2-1 victory after extra-time over Southern Division Southampton Saints.
The other two non-league teams involved, Frome Town and Whitley Bay, both lost to Premier League Northern Division teams.
Frome went down 7-3 to Nottingham Forest, but in a 2-1 scoreline at Whitley Bay it took Tranmere Rovers until five minutes from the end of extra time to get their winner.
Stockport County 1-4 Arsenal
The Gunners found it difficult to adjust to Stockport's artificial pitch and did not take the lead until the 41st minute when England midfielder Katie Chapman struck.
Krystle Johnston equalised 10 minutes after the break, and although England striker Kelly Smith restored Arsenal's lead eight minutes later the game remained tight.
But after Johnston's sending off the Gunners wrapped up victory with a 78th minute strike by England right-back Alex Scott and a Smith penalty four minutes from time.
Sunderland 1-3 Leeds United
Emma Redhead gave the Black Cats a 15th minute lead, but Jess Wright started a Leeds goal-burst with a 40th minute equaliser.
Rachel McArthur nudged the visitors in front seconds before half-time then, three minutes into the second period, Lucy Ward hit the third.
Chelsea 2-1 Doncaster Rovers Belles
Jodian Clarke gave Chelsea the lead after 21 minutes, but Donny levelled through a fine 20-yard strike by England midfielder Vicky Exley nine minutes before the break.
A hard-fought game played on a difficult, pudding of a pitch was won by Ellen White's 13th goal of the season in the 63rd minute.
Blackburn Rovers 3-0 AFC Wimbledon
Striker Katie Anderton neatly lobbed in a 47th minute goal, her 13th of the campaign, to set Blackburn on the way to round five.
Nine minutes later Anderton turned provider with a cross which led to Andi Bell doubling the lead.
And Bell ended the resistance of the Southern Division Dons with her second goal 12 minutes from time.
