York City's new manager Gary Mills has started to reduce his squad by releasing three players.
First year professionals Dean Lisles and Jamie Hopcutt have left Bootham Crescent along with non-contract striker David Dowson.
Hopcutt and Lisles, both 18, came through the youth team set-up while Dowson, 20, was the last player to be signed by Martin Foyle in September.
Mills has said he felt the squad was too big and he was keen to trim it.
