Gateshead boss Ian Bogie has decided not to recall striker David Dowson and defender Callum Morris after both ended short-term spells at the club.
Former Sunderland striker Dowson, 21, and Newcastle academy defender Morris joined the club on a trial basis but failed to impress during that time.
"It is never easy to inform young players that they do not figure in your plans," Bogie said.
"I wish both Dowson and Morris all the best for the future."
Meanwhile former Newcastle reserve-team left-back Darren Lough continues to train at the club having recently had a trial at Gillingham and with a Scottish club.
