New York boss Gary Mills has offered winger David McDermott a second chance to impress at the club.

The 22-year-old midfielder was released by caretaker manager Andy Porter earlier this month.

But he has been handed a new one-month deal at Bootham Crescent after making four appearances as a substitute during his first spell with the Minstermen.

Mills told the York Press: "He's never worked for me before so it's a fresh start for him."

Previous York boss Martin Foyle initially signed former Kidderminster winger McDermott in July.
