Martin Foyle is preparing for his first full season in charge of York City
York manager Martin Foyle hopes his two new signings, winger Craig Nelthorpe and central midfielder Andy Ferrell, will help balance out his team.
Foyle told BBC Radio York: "We needed some left footers in the side.
"Craig Nelthorpe has the ability to go past people. There was a little bit of interest from other clubs but he wanted to come and play for me and York City.
"[As for Ferrell] he's a natural leader within the changing room and on the pitch, he's very vocal."
He added: "He reminds me of Andy Porter [Foyle's assistant] when he was in his heyday, always getting in amongst people and winding them up.
"He's a very, very hard working person and they're the type of people that you need at this level."
The club needs to pull everybody together and work to future success

Foyle has also re-signed young goalkeeper Josh Mimms and defender/midfielder Andy McWilliams.
"Josh has had to be very patient," he said. "Since I've been here he's been in very good form.
"It's not just a case of signing him as an understudy [to Michael Ingham], it's a case of putting that added pressure that's needed and if he does well then he can take Ingy's place, and that's life.
"Andy Mac has a super attitude, he's progressed while I've been here, and he's got to come back wanting to get into that starting eleven."
Foyle said there are more signings to come and he is still talking to a few players who featured last season.
"I want to change the pack around," he said. "It's important that we do it and hopefully look forward to a much better season.
"We're working together, and the club needs to pull everybody together and work to future success."
