York City's Wembley appearance was only the second in the club's history
York striker Richard Brodie felt his side should have had a penalty before Stevenage ran out 2-0 winners in the FA Trophy final at Wembley on Saturday.
Brodie maintains his 51st-minute shot, with the score at 0-0, hit Stevenage defender Michael Bostwick on the arm.
He told BBC Radio York: "Referees have got a very hard job, but it was a stonewall penalty.
"It's going in the bottom corner - the lad's stuck his arm out to block it. He's moved his arm towards the ball."
He added: "Decisions like that change the game.
"I thought we were the better side for the first 15 minutes.
"They came into the game as we knew they would - they're a good side.
"It's the first game I've lost this season in any [cup] competition. I thought that might be a lucky omen but it wasn't."
Brodie, who fell out of favour with former manager Colin Walker and spent a period on loan at Barrow, was happy to be involved in the FA Trophy run.
"From a personal point, I thought my season was going to be a write-off but I've come back a stronger person, scored some goals, and helped the lads come here today.
I hope [the fans] had a good day, and I hope the result doesn't disappoint them too much

"I didn't know what to expect at the start of the season [and then] I was away on loan.
"I've come back and helped the lads to safety and we've got to a cup final at Wembley, which is a great occasion."
"[The fans have] come down here and supported the lads as they've done all season," he added.
"I hope they had a good day, and I hope the result doesn't disappoint them too much."
