Three of York City's players have had their first look at Wembley ahead of the FA Trophy final on 9 May.

Michael Ingham, Daniel Parslow and Richard Brodie all visited the stadium and they will report back to the rest of the squad about their experience.

Brodie told BBC Radio York: "There's just so much to take in the first instance you walk though the door.

"It's just so different to what we're used to but I hope that on the day we'll rise to the occasion."

The striker said it had been incredible to compare the stadium to York City's ground at Kitkat Crescent.

"It has been really overwhelming to see the size of the stadium and the facilities they've got and the pitch," he said.

"To what we're used to week-in week-out it's a massive difference. It's a massive step-up. It's absolutely fantastic. It's the only word I can use actually," he said.

If we pick a point up on Friday I believe we're safe so we can start sort of getting our Wembley heads on after that

The Wembley pitch was criticised by Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger after the FA Cup semi-final but Brodie had no complaints when he saw it.

"We're not allowed on the pitch at the moment. We're standing five or six yards away from it and it looks like a carpet," he said.

"From here it looks like a bowling green but we can't get out to the middle to thoroughly inspect it.

"It's every boy's dream to play here but to score here would be a dream come true."

York City need one more point in Blue Square Premier to secure their place in the league after battling against relegation and Brodie said once that is sorted they will start to look ahead.

"The last few weeks have been very difficult because we've been putting it to the back of our minds," he said.

"But the last week we've picked up seven points in the last three games and it's eased the pressure a little bit.

"We've got two games left and if we pick a point up on Friday I believe we're safe so we can start sort of getting our Wembley heads on after that."
