Survival is priority for Parslow

Daniel Parslow
Parslow says having the chance to play at Wembley has not sunk in yet

York captain Daniel Parslow says City's players will not think about the FA Trophy Final at Wembley until they are safe in the Blue Square Premier.

Relegation remains a threat with four games to go and Parslow told BBC Radio York players share the fans' concerns.

"At the minute, it's an uncomfortable situation so our main priority is to stay in this league," he said.

"We can't really switch our minds to the final at Wembley until we're sure of our status in this league."

He added: "The table doesn't lie. We're in a horrible position and the players feel the same as the fans.

"At the minute Wembley is right at the back of our minds. We need to get ourselves out of this mess that we're in.

"We feel exactly the same as every fan on the terrace. We're trying our hardest to get ourselves out of this pickle that we've got ourselves in to. "

Part of York's problem has been a lack of goals in recent weeks. They have scored just once since the FA Trophy semi-final at home to AFC Telford in March.

However Parslow said he believes the drought will end.

"As long as we keep believing in what we're doing surely the goals will come sooner rather than later," he said.
