York City's players have begun their preparations for the FA Trophy final on 9 May by getting fitted for suits.

They will be dressed in navy blue with cream ties and wear a white rose-button hole to represent Yorkshire.

York goalkeeper Michael Ingham told BBC Radio York: "It's a special day and the lads got the choice of wearing either a tracksuit or a suit.

"They've done a good job. We'll look smart on the day and we'll look well when we get there as well."

He added: "They're an ugly bunch of lads to tell you the truth apart from one or two!

"But we'll look alright when we're all suited and fitted."

Striker Onome Sodje added: "It's really professional and it looks really smart. It creates the right image for the club, going to Wembley and taking lots of fans."

Ingham said getting fitted for suits was fun but insisted they were not looking too much at Wembley just yet with their survival in Blue Square Premier still in doubt.

"You still have to concentrate on the league," he said. "But this is part of the final and you have to do this.

"We'll go down there and hopefully we'll be safe by the time we get there and we'll try and win the game.

"Days like this are part of the experience when we'll come down and have a bit of a laugh and see each other trying the suits on.

"But we can't joke about too much because there are serious things as well.

"We need to get ourselves to safety then we can really relax and start to enjoy the build up and all what the final's about."
